AGENDA Regular Meeting January 2, 2000
THE 1191TH REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
WAS HELD ON JANUARY 02, 2001 AT 7:00 P.M. IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS Mayor Berget called the meeting to order and led the pledge of allegiance. Roll was called. Council members Baeth, Bauer, Porter, Sorenson, Stephens and Thom, City Clerk, Kim Aarstad and Supervisor, Dan Thede was present. The minutes from the December regular meeting were presented and approved. OLD BUSINESS Mr. Bauer announced that after legal research, the city council has decided that Charles Brainte, C & D Amusement will be required to purchase a coin-op license. Mr. Stephens reported that the snow
removal ordinance (Code 12-24-100) deals mainly with rubbish to be removed
from city sidewalks, not snow. The
main problem the city street crews are having on snow removal, is that
several businesses are having their parking lot cleared and dumped into the
city streets. Mr. Thede will continue to work with these businesses to stop
the problem. NEW BUSINESS Mayor Berget read a letter from Chris & Teri Noble asking that the city council consider selling a piece of city property to them for a new home. Mr. Stephens moved to not sell this piece of property to the Nobles. Mr. Sorensen seconded. Motion carried. D.C. Orr approached the council on available space at the Industrial Park site. Matter was put into the Building/Industrial Park Committee. Mayor Berget reminded him that the city had not taken ownership of this property from WR Grace. Mr. Orr also asked that the July 6th,
2000 minutes (see *) be corrected to read as follows: backhoe was accidentally dumped into an old septic system on
the employees property, to backhoe was accidentally dumped into an
old septic system on private property. Mr. Rostorfer asked Mayor Berget where tonight’s meeting had been posted. City Clerk, Kim Aarstad, stated that
the minutes were posted at city hall & on the web site.
Agenda was faxed to radio station and Western News. STANDING COMMITTEES Mrs. Thom, Cemetery/Parks Committee, announced that a gentleman who would like to include Firemen’s park on a map he is developing for the Libby area approached her. Fire Chief, Tom Wood, updated the council on fire calls answered for the month of December. Mr. Wood also submitted year-end information. Mrs. Thom, Water Committee, reminded the council that a walk through of the water filtration plant was scheduled for 9:00 a.m. January 3, 2001. It was moved, seconded and carried to pay the claims as per the claims approval list. Meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
